New Nikon announced (1 Viewer)

Just don't understand why they have adopted a new mount, especially considering they are going to produce an f mount adaptor so you can use f mount lenses.Ah ha it's becoming clearer.....it's so they can make more money selling the dedicated lenses while not upsetting existing f users by providing them with an accessory that will make nikon even more money.I think i'm getting cynical in my old age.

A larger mount with a shorter flange distance will make it easier to create faster wide angle lenses with better image quality.

Also faster lenses will be possible, 52mm/f/0.9 is mentioned.
Also a 36mm f/1.2.

I think this is Nikons strategy to getting closer to medium format quality.
Still keeping things reasonably compact.

For telephoto and BIF, I would stick to the D500 probably...
