Siberian Cranes (the last wintering birds in Iran)

A splendid photo of Siberian Cranes from Jaap Schelvis

Sad to say that these are two of the three last remaining wintering birds in Iran, a bleak outlook for this bird's in it's western wintering grounds... hopefully they fare better in Eastern Asia.

Thanks for highlighting this image Andy,it is one I had missed.Yes very sad to think that these birds may not be in this area for long.More should be done to protect them.It is a lovely image, but makes one feel very sad.

Splendid indeed!
I adore these birds,
but am really taken with
any that are white, Egrets
Swans as well.

To think they are endangered. :((

A nice image. Amazing birds, we can't allow birds like these to disappear.
