Blackbird just spotted with very short/no neck feathers. Any suggestions on what has happened to him? Looks like he’s one of a number of partial albinos that visit my garden.

It could be a phase of moult. I have one in my garden that looks very similar, also notice the feathers on the head still in their waxy pin coating.

One possibility is that feathers could have originally been lost because of head lice or similar condition & are just now growing back in.
