Herring gull type (1 Viewer)

Hello all,

Came across this larger Larus amongst BHG in nottinghamshire today.
Superficially 2nd winter herring gull, would be happy to mark it down as such if not for the sheer bulk of it. Also seems darker than Id expect?
I apologise for the scope shot.
