Optics Planet 11% OFF Gooble Up Sale

Optics Planet has a discount code of THX11 to apply at checkout to get an 11% discount. Looks to be a 12 hours sale ending Friday, November 24 12:00 AM CST (meaning Thursday night). It does not list a minimum purchase amount and it also worked with non optics such as a flashlight that I tested.

https://www.opticsplanet.com/g-spcema-bf11-d1.html

It does combine with GPO binoculars currently marked 10% off. For example, the GPO 8X42 ED that normally sells for $379.99 is $304.37 with free economy shipping.

Note: If the link goes to the VIGLINK page, scroll down to the long blue box and click on it where is says continue to OpticsPlanet dot Com.

Optics Planet $150 Gift Certificate Included on some Zeiss

Optics Planet is including a $150 gift certificate on some Zeiss models:

-Conquest HD 10X42 *
-Conquest HD 8X42 *
-Zeiss HT 10X42
-Zeiss FL 10X32
-Zeiss HT 8X54
-Zeiss FL 8X32

* Shows free 2 day shipping. 8X requires a coupon code so it may not be available if using the 11% off code.

Note: Link includes display of rifle scopes included in the offer

https://www.opticsplanet.com/get-150...ect-items.html

The card combines with the 11% off coupon listed above, good today only. So the best combo would be 11% off today, plus the $150 gift certificate plus free 2 day shipping on the Conquest 42mm.

Optics Planet Black Friday 11% Off; 13% Off Binoculars; Diamondback

Here is a new 11% off deal to follow their 1 day offer from yesterday. This Offer ends 11/28/17 at 11:59 PM CST and applies to multiple product lines that they offer.

Use checkout code BLFR.

https://www.opticsplanet.com/g-spcema-bf11-d2.html

Note: If you get the VIGLINK web page, scroll part way down and click on the long blue box with the text Continue to Optics Planet dot Com.

----------------

They also have an additional code of BFBN13 that gives 13% of a list of binoculars. However I found it also works with binoculars not on the list so give this code a try first! This offer ends 12/1/17 at 11:59 PM CST

https://www.opticsplanet.com/u-spcem...binos1117.html

Examples:

Sightron Blue Sky II 8X32
- Normally $168.00
- Discounted $146.16
- Plus a free Sightron camo ball cap included in the cart

Zeiss Conquest HD 10X42
- Normally $999.99
- Discounted $869.99
- Plus $150 Gift Certificate added to the cart

Zeiss FL 8X32
- Normally $2,099.99
- Discounted $1,826.99
- Plus $150 Gift Certificate added to the cart

Opticron iMagic BGA VHD 10X42
- Normally $629.00
- Discounted $547.23

I included the iMagic in the examples as an alternative to the Tract Torics which do not have any specials at the moment. I have both a Toric and an iMagic in the 10X42 and they are basically twins in different clothes. Differences are armor, coating color but with basically the same ending color balance, focus on mine is lighter on the iMagic and stiffer on the Toric, and the outer eye cup covers are different but work equally well. The iMagic includes a case that is on the small side but is an optional accessory with the Toric. Eye relief specs are different but the eye placement for me is the same for both so I am still checking on that.

----------------------------

They also have a special offer on the new generation Vortex Diamondback 10X42 for $119.99. Normal price is $229.99.

Sigh ... this is typical. Something similar happened after I bought my Ultravid.
I just read about the free gift card. It states to be used for a 'later purchase', so the FL wouldn't go down to 1677. I guess they send you a physical gift card.

Cabela's optics sale

Among those on sale is the Euro Instinct HD spotting scope (Meopta S2 82 angled with non-interchangeable 20-70 eyepiece) for $1500.

See: http://www.cabelas.com/product/home/...1.uts?slotId=0

The $.88 at the end of the $1,499.88 for the Euro scope sometimes indicates a close out in the Cabela's world. It does get confusing because the big sale on the Guide binocular had .88 at the end about a year ago but it then stuck around for a while.

As previously mentioned, Cabela's optics are on sale for 25% off right now, but the discount on the scope is about 35%, so it is being handled differently. Maybe it is going to have an armor change as was recently done with the Euro binoculars. Just speculating here.

I would be careful of anything Euro HD from Cabela's on clearance after buying the Euro HD 8x32 binoculars and having problems with them. Grease came out of the focuser and the IPD adjustment tension loosened up to the point of not being usable. They could be selling returns. I realize not everybody will have problems with these but just giving members a heads-up.

Just because Dennis had a problem with his, doesn't mean they all will have a problem, and besides, Cabelas comes with a 90 day return policy, and a full warranty besides, if there is a problem.

So if you can find a good deal on them, I say go for it, and see how they work out for you. I recently found a pair of 10x32's on clearance that I think are great, and give a wonderful view besides-better than the lower priced ones I've tried. These seem to be at a higher quality level that I haven't had before, and the wide open view is one to be experienced.

I happen to own the Cabela's Instinct Euro HD scope (straight version) and have for quite some time with zero problem. It can hold its own against the best scopes out there (Kowa 880 series, Swarovski ATX) so represents a great bargain in my mind. As Barry said Cabela's has a good return policy and great warranty. If you're i the market for a scope it's definitely worth a try.
Peter
p.s. I've also had no problem with the 8X32 Euro HD, but have only had it for a relatively short time.

Only a slight exaggeration here. I've extensive use of the 8x32 HD, 10x42HD, and Meopta Spotter (same as cabelas Euro) with zero issues over the past 7 years. I find them to be very well built and reliable.

I really believe the issues with my Euro HD 8x32 were caused by the fact that it was a return. I think the binoculars had problems when the first owner purchased them so he returns it and Cabela's sends it back to Meopta for repair and Meopta tries to fix it unsuccessfully and returns it to Cabela's. Cabela's then sells it on clearance and after a bit of use the problems return because the binocular was defective in the first place. Just my theory. In all the binoculars I have purchased over the years I have never had one self destruct like the Euro. Really weird.
