Kowa TSN 823m or Nikon ED82 (1 Viewer)

Hi

I have been using an Opticron HR60 for some time, and have decided to stop dithering and upgrade the scope.

I am about to choose between purchasing a used, but excellent condition, Kowa 823M with 32 x WA ep (fold down rubber), or a new (no used model available!) Nikon ED82, with a 30W or 25-75 ep. Price for Kowa is circa £650, and price for Nikon is £300 more, circa £950 (depending on ep).

I have recently bought a Nikon P5100, and would like to try digiscoping.

Which scope represents best quality, value for money, and flexibility for digiscoping?

Your experienced views would be greatly appreciated.

As a Kowa 823 user I'd go with the Kowa, tried the Nikon and couldn't see any difference between the two optically but as I'm a spec wearer the eye relief on the Kowa beats the Nikon.

Kowa 823M - I love mine, just check lens is good condition,
32X wide angle, I find is great for digiscoping. I use a Nikon 4500 coolpix - older cam but ideal - Agree with other postings Nikon not for me.
