Out with the sprogs for a few hours not serious birding but managed to get

Garden warblers heard and coule of GS Woodpecker only birds of note

(recent additions to the county's YL include a Bearded tit reported at Shibdon 17th-18th May,single Black Guillemot and Pomarine Skua on the 30th,2 Long tailed Skua and 1 Sooty Shearwater on the 31st and finally 1 singing Icterine Warbler on the 3rd June.All the last 5 at this years premier spot of course Whitburn CP!!!...year list now stands at 206!!!)

A brief visit for the new star birds of the week proved sucessful
127.Avocet 2 were seen from the Wader hide providing excellent
views!Great to add them as my first for Tyne and
Wear.

(The above Avocets which have been at Washington since the 7th and a White stork flying over the same place on the 9th bring the county total up to 208)

I know its been EONS since i last entered anything on my site but work and a new baby boy in July have interveened.An impressive list was aeays going to be difficult to achieve but now its nigh on impossible.Never mind i will plug on and hopefully get a few stragglers that i missed.

229 for 2006 doesnt seem huge but its a little county with not an over abundance of bird sites of any quality will be interested to see if 2007 is any better? :bounce:
