carrion / hooded crow hybrid ? Scotland (1 Viewer)

i saw this young bird, which appeared to me to look like a hooded crow, beg food from its parent, which looked like a carrion crow - could they be the result of mating between carrion and hooded crow ?

Yep, hybrids. They're quite common in a narrow strip from Argyll up to the Black Isle.

A pure Hoodie would be much paler grey on its belly.
