Fortunately the Bee-eater stayed around for our return home from holiday today.
Still giving great views today.

I took the sx50hs for it's first outing this morning in dull light. Not the best for stretching it's legs but I did some tests anyway.
I shot it against the SX40 to try and appreciate the extra zoom. I'm processing some Raw images at the moment but here are two composites -
1. showing sx40 at full zoom and sx50 at equivalent zoom and then at full zoom (1200 mm)
2. showing 24 mm and 1200 mm of the same subject at distance in hazy light.

Rather odd question here... I have been looking at the SX50 or the SX40, now I have an iMac running Leopard 10.5. (yes I know I should have up graded!) and I notice that in the specs for the SX50 it says it suports OS v10.6 on so I'm guessing it will not be compatible with my machine? The SX40 supports 10.5 so that should work.
No good getting a camera that doesn't download vids and photos! Anyone running such an old OS and using the SX50?
Cheers
