Apologies if you already know all about this, but I thought it was worth a quick mention.
Social bookmarking is taking off on the Web. The idea is that users share their bookmarks or favourites on the web. These bookmarks can then be browsed or searched using tags (keywords) assigned by other users. Fairly quickly a database of the web's favourite sites grows.
Two sites worth checking out are ma.gnolia and del.icio.us.
I've been populating my ma.gnolia this morning with a few bookmarks, so you can see how it could become useful as a means of sharing favourite birding websites. If more BFers were to contribute their own bookmarks, we'd soon get a terrific pool of websites of interest to us all.
