As previously stated I have left my Singapore book somewhere between Dubai, Australia and Singapore not a good idea, especially for me.

1. Not sure and its the only picture I have
2. Yellow vented Bul Bul
3 Not sure
4. Asian Koel
5. Not sure

Hope this post work hotel keeps resetting my connection.

1. black-naped oriole
2. yellow-vented bulbul
3. common iora
4. asian glossy starling
5. yellow bittern (not 100% sure on this)

Agree with James on the first 4.

I was thinking pond-heron for #5. if so, I think Chinese would be the expected one.

i'm confident that it is an ixobrychus bittern sp., rather than pond-heron

compare yellow bittern

look at e.g. the structure and pattern of the bill, the colour of the crown, the patterning on the wing coverts etc.

there are quite a few ixobrychus in asia though and i'm not really up on the IDs
