I was just in Hungary last weekend, in a town called Tata (western Hungary), at a Wild Goose Festival (the Tatai Vadlud Sokadalom) - the sight of thousands of geese waking up in the morning is truly breathtaking. Species seen included: Bean Geese (5000), Greater White-Fronted Geese (5000), Greylag Geese (1000), there were also some Red-breasted Geese and Lesser White-Fronted Geese about but I dipped on these, Dunlin, Syrian Woodpecker (easy to find), lots of Hawfinch, Bearded Reedling (8-10), Tawny Owl, Long-eared Owl... and much more

Oh wow, thanks for pointing this out.
I won't be there this year, but I put a reminder in my calendar for next year.
Maybe we are back then :D
Wishing you lots of fun!
