Fungi for ID (1 Viewer)

Rudegar

Growing on grass beneath a hazel hedge. Thought initially it was a fairy-ring mushroom but spores and the stipe were all wrong. Spores were spherical and quite large at ~14 um and stipe would seem to have a small volva.

Thanks for any help

Hi Colin,

Interesting, I collected something very similar from under Hazel last weekend...

I couldn't ID it to species though, the closest I got was Amanita sect. Vaginatae.

Amanita's not really my speciality but if you get any ideas I'd love to hear them!

Cheers,
Nick
