I reckon both may be unidentifiable, but these were both taken today in the vicinity of Byurakan

I had also wondered if 1) was a sparrowhawk, but 2 sparrowhawks are present here (Eurasian and Levant) and I wasnt sure which was more likely?

Three 'sparrowhawks'. if you count 'Northern Shikra' Accipiter (badius) cenchroides, a rare but increasing breeder in Armenia. It's almost a decade since Vasil Ananian et al 2010...

Yes, you are right ! For the OP bird identification, it is still a Eurasian Sp., as Shikra is similar to Levant ; they are also closely related genetically AFAIK.
