I saw these on Lake Erie in 07/2010. Based on my other pictures, I'm thinking they're some kind of gull, but I'm not 100% sure. Thanks!

Yellow legs, black rings on the bills - Ring-billed Gulls. Very common along the shores of the Great Lakes.
