Which camera with ATM80 scope? (1 Viewer)

Hi
I'm a complete beginner as far as digiscoping goes.
I asked a question relating to my dslr set up in another thread but as yet haven't had any replies.
So thought I would post a question here about compact cameras as well. Incase I decide to use this method instead.

I have the Swarovski ATM80 HD scope and the UCA adapter and would like any advice as to which compact camera's forum members would recommend to use with this scope.

Any advise is very welcome.

Lens adapter neededto use the DCA with the Coolpix 6000/7000

Can anyone tell me if you need a lens adapter to use the DCA adapter with a Coolpix 6000/7000?

Many thanks,
Rob

Rob,
You'll need an adapter eg http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/811197-REG/Bower_A4652N6_Nikon_P6000_Adapter_Tube.html
or this is a Nikon original http://jerseydigiscoping.blogspot.com.au/2008/11/nikon-p6000-ur-e21-adaptor.html
The P7000 takes a different adapter but is not suitable for digiscoping due to extreme vignetting with most eyepieces.

Further advice

Thanks Neil, very helpful. Unfortunately, the Nikon P6000 camera seems very difficult to get hold of now, and as you pointed out that the P7000 is not suitable for digiscoping, can anyone suggest the best [current] compact camera to link to the following setup:

Swarovski Telescope: ATS 65 HD
Eyepiece: ATS 20-60 S
Digiscoping adapter: Swarovski DCA zoom adapter

Thanks again!
Rob

Thanks for all the advice, the set-up I've gone for is as follows.

Telescope: Swarovski ATS 65 HD (which I had already)
Eyepiece: ATS 20-60 S (ditto)

Adapter: Swarovski DCA zoom

Camera: Nikon Coolpix P6000
52mm Lens Adapter Tube Ring

The last bits arrived today -all working very well in the garden this afternoon, and I'm looking forward to getting into the field with the kit over Christmas in the UK and in Senegal in the 2nd half of January :))

Happy Christmas!
Rob
