Hi all - this is my list so far this calendar year.

All birds seen either in England, The Gambia, or Cambodia.

Curious if anyone has the time to look, as to what the 'stand out' bird is in your opinion, and based on your own criteria?

Not many mega rarities here, but interested to hear peoples thoughts.

Can't comment on the African birds, and suspect others might highlight the hornbills - but for me (greater?) racket-tailed drongo is the standout bird, based simply on the criteria that it's a great looking bird, and consequently one of the species on my life list I'd most like to see again.

Are you going to say what your own standout species is?

Racket-tailed drongo is definitely up there.

As is white-crested tiger heron.

But yeah - the setting and seeing both wreathed and great hornbills (albeit from a bit of a distance) are my highlights so far.

House Sparrow (Passer Domesticus) is to be commended too!
