Hi All,

New to the forum.
I found this little guy in our yard this morning.
His parents are pigeon sized grey birds that coo in the morning.

He seems to have little hairs sticking out of this feathers,
so perhaps he's just a fledgling?

What to do with him is my question.

Let me know,

Ian

Welcome!

The best thing you can do is return him to where you found him. His parents will be looking for him.

Great news!

I took him (her) down to the yard,
and he perched on my finger.
I used rubber gloves so as to not contaminate him with my scent.

The parents were in the yard when I went down.
Once I left the yard, the parents went down to him.

We have dogs in our yard, so I picked him up and lightly tossed him into our neighbor's yard - who doesn't have any pets - and he flew!
He landed kind of clumsily on some branches of a bush,
and the parents immediately went to him.

So all is well.

Thank-you for your help,

Ian:t:
