Cat collar that worked to reduce killing of birds (1 Viewer)

Last year we got a new young cat, Springer, a Manx that turned out to be an incredibly fast and efficient hunter. She started bringing in lots of birds and we had to figure out some way of stopping this. We did not want her to just be an indoor cat, nor did we want to give her up.

I learned about the Birds-Be-Safe collar after online research, and decided to try it. I was really happy to find out that it truly worked in our case, and a year later she only once in a long while manages to catch a bird, very rare now. The bright colors on the collar warn off the birds, making it hard for her to sneak up on them.

If you're interested in trying it, here's the link:

It doesn't bother her, you get used to the look (it gives her character), and it's not expensive. Hope this helps! (see attached picture of Springer)

By the way, also check out theses links: my live 24/7 USTREAM channel of two birdhouse nesting activity just getting started this season for VG Swallows and BC Chickadees, and some amazing videos recorded from previous seasons:

Thank you, Ray!

Being always also concerned about the cat's safety I found this:

Comfort and Safety: Cats can wear our products while grooming, feeding, and enjoying cat life. The Birdsbesafe collar cover is shaped like a tube, and you insert a breakaway-buckled cat collar inside of it. Both parts will release under pressure for your cat's safety. We sell breakaway cat collars that work well with Birdsbesafe® cat collar covers.

Hopefully this will work to pretend the cat from being strangulated while prowling through the bushes and hedges around the house.

Did you also provide your cat with one of the above mentioned breakaway-buckled collars? Does it really work?
