Saw this bird flying along the river Windrush. Some sort of gamebird possibily?

Thanks

Josh

I also see a Mistle Thrush. They can give an oddly "gamebird"/galliform-like impression at times. (I think the apparent white neck patch that presumably has people thinking Woodpigeon is a photo artefact...)

I suppose it could be. If it is IMO all other suggestions are wild guesses.

The more times I look at this the more certain I get that it's a Mistle Thrush. The whole silhouette and especially the head/bill shape are completely wrong for any dove/pigeon.

There is a lot of "noise" in that photo - can you post the uncropped version so we can get more of an overall impression.

My instant response was Cuckoo, but I agree it could be a Mistle. How did it's flight look? Straight, undulating, fast, slow, wavering?
