Seawatching 2012 (1 Viewer)

Did a couple of sessions off Falmouth today (Pendennis Point), not the ideal seawatching location, and in only what was really a light breeze, but it was SW or S (which is fairly ideal). Not a heavy passage (mainly Gannets and auk sps west), but highlights of -

Pom Skua 1
Arctic Tern 2
RT Diver 1
Balearic Shear 5
Sooty Shear 1
Minke Whale 1
Bottlenose Dolphin 10+

Most of which were site/year ticks!

The Lizard/Porthgwarra would obviously have been better, but hey, stuff is out there ...

A reasonably poor day yesterday, despite seemingly ideal weather conditions on Galley head.

1 Corys shearwater
3 Sooty shearwater
10 Bonxie
7 Storm petrels

One great shearwater was seen before I got there.

Seems we were on the wrong headland with Feas being scored off Mizen.

Owen

Oh yes! 8-P
