Hi IanF,
Just a thought, but could not all the photos be voted on, and names of submitters withheld until the final results?

madmike

With this month being a very popular one for entries approx 130 , I think most people would have gone barmy looking through all of these trying to remember where your favourite ones were etc.

With quite a few of the photographers putting their own name for their protection it would be impossible to do this.

Deciding was so difficult! All the shots are superb and there are at least half a dozen that I'd really like to vote for. In the end I decided that I had to vote for the one that made me say "Wow!"

This was a really, really difficult one to choose - there were so many wonderful shots. My "shortlist" was about 15 photos long, very hard to whittle it down further but I did eventually. Well done to all of you. And I'm so glad I only had 30 rather than 130 to choose from - I don't think I would even have started with that many.

Excellent entries, surprised at the current leader though. I had many favourites and this wasn't one of them. What do I know !!

Thanks everyone, great work.

Waiting for the results and just letting your'll know i have chewed my fingers nails to bedrock and may soon start on my toes-waiting oh :-O All the entries were excellent and may the best pic win. B :)

So hard to choose, but I picked one that made my jaw drop when it was first posted. Fantastic quality photographs. Makes me realise how far behind I am !!

The winners are -

Results of the November 2005 competition with the theme 'Single Bird' -

1st - Red Kite wins the competition with the entry Kite Flying with 45/190 votes cast.
2nd - SveinB with the entry Atlantic Puffin having attracted 24/190 votes.
3rd - Marise with Acorn Thief having attracted 13/190 votes.

A very high standard of entries this month made selecting a favourite very difficult.

Congratulations to each of you and to every one who entered and thank you to everyone who participated in the voting :t:

The entries will be left in place for a few days after which they will be moved to their appropriate forums.

Details of the next theme challenge will then follow.

Congratulations all - BF boasts some world class photographers. Missed the vote, but have just started looking at entries. Didn't get further than Atlantic Puffin, that was it for me - as they say 'I know what I like'

Real shame there can't be sub-categories - eg: Best lighting, most unusual capture, most humorous, best technical ability, and an overall winner of BEST Photo (puffin shot fulfilled all these for me but many others would have been top of their class)
