Kowa 10x50 SV (DCF?) Experience? (1 Viewer)

Hi all. Although I use my Hawthorne 7x42s and Kowas 6x30s most of the time, I occasionally want 10x magnification. Since I know I wouldn't use these often, I'm out to keep the price down. A couple of years ago I tried the usual suspects (Vanguard EDII, Vixen Forestas, Vortex Diamondbacks, Zen Ray's ZRS HD, etc., all in 10x42). There was something about all of them I didn't love, so sent them all back (except the ZRSs, just in case I needed a 10x). Now I'm interested again, and attracted by the Kowa's spec'd 19.5mm ER (I need about that - the 15mm of the ZRS is too little).

These 10x50 SV DCF (is the "DCF" new?) seem to have been around for awhile, but there isn't much in the way of reviews. Has anyone tried them? For $275 they look like they might be decent, and the little 6x30s have become a favorite for bird and wildlife watching at close - med. distances.

Thanks!
