Hi I am relocating to South Africa and I was wondering whether they have goldfinches there, more specifically the European goldfinch... yes I know it’s European but I know it is present in Europe and in North Africa, wondering if you can see them in the south as well? Thank you

No - no European Goldfinches in South Africa. There is a small population of Chaffinches introduced in Cape Town, but SA hasn't suffered to the same extent as e.g. Australia or New Zealand have with introduced European birds.

PS welcome to Birdforum!
