A skink from Sao Tome, and some sort of small lizard from Principe- any ideas please?

Gecko is Tropical House Gecko I think, doubt you'll do the Skink with certainty from this shot although it could be Sao tome Skink?

Thank you Andy, though is the House Gecko the common one that's also in Australia? If so the pattern is utterly different; sadly the skink was a quick record shot but you may well be right

No, different species, the Australian one is Hemidactylus frenatus I think.

I agree with the Skink id, but I think the other lizard is a Principe Day Gecko, Lygodactylus delicatus.

Thanks for that, the gecko was very distinctive and Principe Day Gecko makes sense, I will see if i can download the book too.

Cheers :t: Wow - not just free but a great book! It has a fabulous introduction into the ecology and conservation of the islands that deals with much of the endemic flora and fauna, apart from the herps.
