One of the big gaps on the Caradon area of Cornwall list is Buff-breasted Sandpiper. This has always been a source of amazement to us local birders as they turn up annually just over the border in North Cornwall at Davidstow airfield.

All that changed yesterday when 4 turned up together at Colliford lake. They are typically confiding, and as long as you don't make any sudden movements they will happily feed around your tripod! Other goodies seen there today include Little Stint, Lesser Yellowlegs (very elusive!) Osprey, Black Tern, Wryneck.

I took BF's very own Andrew there on Sunday and all we saw was an out of place Turnstone!!!

Stop rubbing it in mate! ;)

Actually seeing the YLGulls and the titbit of education on them you gave us was very much worth going there for.

Any chance they will hang about until tomorrow morning or Monday morning at a push?
