Hi all, going through all my images and I have found another that I am unsure of. The more I am looking through my book, the more confused I am getting......

I am hoping soneone can help?

i would go with Orthetrum brunneum, but this is not is certain identification, you really need much better shot of wing venation, particularly Rspl to be confident.

I do have many images of Keeled Skimmers (or they may be Southern) from the same place and the same time. However, the males have blue eyes and the females have bluish eyes with a yellow face. All other photo's have some yellow in the wings too. I can only assume that this is an old one?
 
There look like 5 doubled cells to me - which would make it brunneum
Or a coerulescens at the extreme end of variation (4-5 cell doublings is within the area of possible overlap, although it is rare for coerulescens to have as many doubled cells, but fairly common for brunneum to have 5-6).;);):eek!:
It's a relatively broad bodied and plain individual so I don't really see any reason to doubt the ID as brunneum though!:t:
