Pair of Firecrests (1 Viewer)

A couple of weeks ago went out birding with a freind and came accross a pair of Firecrests.

I have read somewhere that between 20 - 100 pairs have been spotted annually over the last 10 years.

Is this correct and if so is this a rare sighting?

Firecrests are scarce passage migrants in the UK and breed regularly but in small numbers, mainly in the south of England. So yes they're rare but they are around. Well done on finding a pair.
