Elephant Hawk Moth (1 Viewer)

Hi! I’m new here so sorry if this is something that was already answered or disallowed.
I found an Elephant hawk Moth caterpillar last summer and decided to tear it and set it free with my children. Now he’s hatched but his wings are damaged. At first I thought the just needed time to stretch out but it’s been a couple days. I soaked a cotton ball in honey and water got him to eat but I don’t know what to do, can he be set free or should I set up his box for him to live in? He’s so lovely, we’ve named him Cecil.
