When to clean nest out of nextbox? (1 Viewer)

Young chickadees fledged and left the nest; it's been four days and the box has been empty the full time. Should I clean out the old nest/bedding?

Not yet, rarely they may come back to roost.

I agree with Pat! I would wait just a bit as it is so early in the breeding system.

When birds nested in my Nestbox and as soon as they left I cleared out the box ready for the next season but birds do sometimes come back to roost in it after the season.

For my Bluebird box I leave it for about 3-4 days after fledging then I clean it out each time. They are not long in making another nest. Of course different species do diffenently.

Some species have a second brood so don't be to keen to make them homeless.
