Where to report a banded Siberian Crane sighting? (1 Viewer)

Hello friends,

On September 18th at Huanzidong Reservoir in Liaoning province I spotted a banded Siberian Crane:

http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S39244400

It had 3 bands colored Red, Yellow, Black from top to bottom.

I'm sure someone out there is tracking this information, but I have been unable to Google/Baidu up any sort of interested party.

Do you know where to report this sighting? Or can you report it for me?

Many thanks.

I don't know if this will help you, but I saved this info quite some time ago.

I found several sites for reporting banded or flagged birds, but they all indicate one or two flags per leg, so I'm not sure what to do with three.
I would like to know myself.

Hi Owen,

I should have clarified - these were large rings, not flags like for the shorebirds in the PDF, and had no visible numbers. Given the scarcity of Siberian Cranes, I assume it's a unique code to identify a particular bird. It would take only a few color and order combinations to cover the entire population, and they're certainly not all banded at this point.

It's probably worth contacting the secretariat of the East Asia-Australasian Flyway Partnership, who should be able to coordinate with the relevant researchers. Some details on colour marking are here: http://www.eaaflyway.net/migratory-waterbirds-in-eaaf/coordination-of-colour-marking/
This page includes a link specifically about cranes, but does not seem to include a protocol that matches your observation: http://www.eaaflyway.net/wordpress/documents/wg/Cranes_color_markings_in_EAA_Flyway_20150413.pdf

banded Siberian crane

I checked with Nyambyar Batbayar, from Mongolia. He said:

This news about a Siberian crane is exciting news for us. Because this Siberian crane was marked by us last June at Khurkh Valley. This bird should have a tracking device on its back, which is not working or may have dropped off
