I noticed this story in the Independent today

Whilst it immediately raises concerns that what appeared sensible proposals in terms of inspection frequency, the banning of raised cages and the introduction of minimum standards on space are likely to be watered down or removed from any review, there is also a longer term concern that our new Farming Minister is 'in the pockets' of the shooting fraternity and how that will play out when it comes to raptor protection.

Well...isn't the entire government in the pockets of: country landowners, banks, CBI, IofD, the Royal Navy (the bit that needs Trident and two carriers), anyone who hates the public sector; welfare state; penniless scum? Isn't that, in fact, what we voted for?
