Shorebird ID? Canaveral area, FL, USA (1 Viewer)

I can't seem to find a good match for this bird in my books. The photo was taken in late April at Canaveral National Seashore, FL.

Not sure, but it looks to me like a Willet, moulting into the "barred and spotted" alternate (breeding) plumage. You can still see some plain gray basic plumage on the back.

Yup definite willet. As to if it is a western or eastern willet is beyond me at first glance.

Western is the subspecies that winters along the southern coast. Most, if not all Eastern Willets are hanging out on much more southerly coasts.
 
Thanks, all. I figure it's time for me to learn a few more names for shorebirds I've seen for years beyond the handful I already know.
