Hi everyone. Another newbie. I'm hoping chat about birds - mainly British but it can also be Australian and others. I have a love of hummingbirds too after a trip to Ontario. In these challenging times it would great to connect with other bird lovers so hope Iv come to the right place?!
We live on an estuary in west Cumbria, great for waders, ducks and geese during winter. There Woodlands nearby with many common species. We were able to visit reserves at Hodbarrow and at Leighton Moss until recently: great bird sites. Today we saw shelduck, redshank, little egrets and 3 gull species but it has been great for curlew, oystercatcher, ringed clover, knot, sanderling, pintail and wigeon to name a few. Saw a beaut pair of bull finch today and many more species to the sound of songthrush, blackbird, wren and Robin song. Saw a willow warbler last week and have heard the chiffchaff calling so great to see the migrants returning.
Anyway hello again and look forward to chatting. Go well everyone and enjoy the spring birds!
