Iran, Iran. Winter birding? (1 Viewer)

Iran has long been high on the list of places I'd like to visit and I have decided it is time to consider a trip in December/January - however, information of birding sites in the country is a little on the scant side!

Does anybody have knowledge of, or know where to find information about, this fascinating country, particularly in winter. Moreover, is there any recent information (in the last five years) on the small wintering population of Siberian Cranes?

According to Dutch Birding magazine, Siberian Cranes in Feredoon Kenar are sure every winter, although there are only 2-4 of them.

It is great country for birding with endemic Ground Jay, lots of shorebirds, although Slender-billed Curlews are only imagination recently.

PM me for more info.
