This thread a compilation of the most interesting bird sightings by myself and those of the local ornithological society observers GONHS. Anyone welcome to add their own sightings from GibraƖtar ONLY.
 
Passage.

White Stork on the 18th and a Black Kite flew over the Rock on the 25th. Dartford Warbler at Europa Point.
 
Seabirds.

Lots of activity on the seabird front lately, with large numbers of Northern Gannets & gulls, predominantly Black-headed, with smaller numbers of Lesser black-backed, and notably over 450 Mediterranean Gulls in on hours watch yesterday! Other seabirds include very good numbers of Great Skua and smaller numbers of Sandwich Tern, Razorbill, Puffin and Balearic Shearwater.

A Short-toed Eagle was sighted by gonhs members over the Rock yesterday. Raptor migration is warming up its engines!
 
Raptors & storks.

6 Short-toed Eagles, 2 Black Storks and single Black Kite and Sparrowhawk were seen by gonhs observers over the Rock having crossed the strait.
 
Latest sightings 2013

Lots of Med Gulls, Balearic, Yelkouan & Cory's Shearwaters passing out towards the Atlantic as well as an unseasonal number of Audouin's Gull, up to 150 seen in a 3 hours sea-watch. Other recent sightings include Pomerine Skua, Nothern Gannet, BHGull, Saandwich Tern, Slender-Billed Gull and up to 12 Honey Buzzard still heading north! More on our twitter feed.
 
Latest sighings

The last post title should read latest sightings 2014, not 2013 apologies.

Lots of sightings lately with hundreds of Black Kites, small numbers of Lesser Kestrel, Booted Eagle, Lanner Falcon, Eleonora 's Falcon, Audouins & Med Gull, Macaronesian Shearwater, oystercatcher, Flamingo, Whimbrel and others.
 
Latest sightings August

Quite a lot of passage in and around Gibraltar lately, with large numbers of Audouin's Cory's and smaller numbers of Yelkouan & Balearic Shearwaters, Gannet, LBBGull, BHGull, Med Gull, Sandwich, Common, Black Terns and Arctic, Pomarine & Great Skuas. Large numbers of Black kites have been moving along, together with small numbers of Egyptian & Griffon Vultures, Short-toed & Booted Eagles, Honey Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Eleonora's Falcon.....Smaller birds also moving include Bee-eater, Black-eared Wheatear, Melodious Warbler, Whitethoart, Woodchat Shrike & Hoopoe.
