Hawk ID Help - Trinidad (1 Viewer)

I apologize for the poor photo quality! This was taken from a hotel balcony in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The hawk was eating a frog. Although you can't see it well, the hawk's belly was very light, with brown spots. The tail was banded black/gray. The beak was yellow at the base with a black tip. My best guess is an immature Common Black Hawk, but would love a more expert opinion. I just arrived in Trinidad, so I'm not familiar with the birds yet. Thanks very much!

I may be way off, but I am getting the feeling of a bird smaller than a Black Hawk. I think it would be more in line with a smaller bird, say Sharp-shinned Hawk for instance.
