hello i think this is a juvenile heron but never seen one close up so asking you lovely birders if you would please confirm. i havent seen a young one before . it seemed unperturbed of the people walking by and it is a very busy place in the centre of the town in dover kent

It's a Cormorant. Much shorter legs, hooked bill, and longer tail. Also, it's much darker than either of those two heron species.
