fuscus? - Lincs (1 Viewer)

Dean Nicholson

Cloacal Protuberant.
Eye-catching small and pale juvenile LBB this afternoon at Norton Disney.... had a nice white-ish underwing too which can just about be appreciated in the flapping shot although note that most of the underwing is in the shade of the overhead sun so actually appears darker than it was.
I know young graellsii/intermedius can occasionally show paler heads but the combination of small size, pale head and pale underwing is generally regarded as fuscus traits. The small size gave it an almost canus like jizz (compare with the juv Herring gull in the 4th pic!).
It will never go anywhere obviously but comments welcome....
(apologies for poor shots but distance, heat-haze and wind shake etc...)

Cheers
Dean
