Designed for the serious birder and outdoor enthusiast on a budget, the Sahara 60mm zoom spotting scope features a comfortable 45 degree 15x to 45x zoom eyepiece delivering sharp, clear images at long and short range viewing distances. The zoom range is perfect for on the move use the moderate 15x magnfication at the start of the range can be hand help - making the scope idea for quick views in the fiels. The Sahara spotting scope is constructed from lightweight polycarbonate and then rubber armour covered for quiet, safe handling in the field and to protect the instrument from the bumps and knocks of a lifetime of regular use.
For bright, high contrast views the Barr & Stroud Sahara 60mm has superb fully anti-reflection-coated BaK4 prisms and lenses.
Lightweight polycarbonate construction The Barr & Stroud Sahara spotting scopes are manufactured from dense polycarbonate greatly reducing the overall weight also making it extremely rugged and durable.
Rubber armour covered - A rugged rubber armor covering quiets down those bumps and protects the Sahara spotting scope from abrasions and damage from regular use. Even more protection and convenience is afforded by the brilliant stay-on "action jacket" padded carry case. The carry case can be left on the scope in use - even when attached to tripods, with all the controls are fully accessible.
Waterproof, fog proof & nitrogen purged ensure many years of reliable performance. The scope is nitrogen purged to ensure the views stay crystal clear regardless of temperature changes (in and out of warm cars, hides etc).
Built-in sliding sunshade - The Sahara features a sliding sunshade that is built-in to the objective lens of the scope to further reduce glare. The front lens-cap is tethered on to the scope and conveniently pops on the sunshade out of the way when viewing.
Tripod included: A combined half-height (can be used standing) and table-top tripod is included with the Sahara. The tripod's height ranges from 420mm at the lowest setting to 1250mm (49") at it's highest. It's small footprint (at low setting) is ideal for hide use - as well as home window sills and patio tables!
The Barr & Stroud Sahara spotting scope can be used with small digital as well as large SLR (digital or film) cameras. Suitable adaptors are available seperatly.
Accessories - The Bresser spotting scope comes standard with the following high-quality accessories: soft stay-on carry case with shoulder strap, combined table-top and half-height tripod with pan and tilt head with carry case.
