I did a Singapore Big Year in 2012 for the first time and managed to chalked up 259 species. Did another BY in 2014 and only managed 247 species. Doing a BY again this year but on a leisurely pace. Let see how many can I get. As more of the rural areas in tiny Singapore get developed with one prime birding site (former Bidadari Cemetery) to be gone this year, I think the count will only get lower That is the problem when the government and population at large value development and growth much more than conservation.
