Great Grey Looking Out
I only have been using modern binoculars (last 10 years) for a short time here, but I have had many in the last 5 years or so to look through, and enjoy. But one of them stands out so much, that I feel I have to mention it to others who are in the discovery stage of viewing and binoculars. It is the Nikon EII 8x30. It is still available today in Japan, and where most now come from on offer to buy new, whether Ebay or Amazon, or private vendors.
With its very wide field and excellent optics, it only continues to impress me whenever I pick them up. That 3D view is not something to be taken for granted, but to be enjoyed, that you don't get with most roof prism bins, and not to this extent either. It is very impressive, in good light, and probably excellent in bad light too. But if you are looking for the whole WOW view, and very relaxed, wide view too, these will give you that, and the detail you want in a bin still available new today.
I have others that deliver great performance too, but these are so impressive that I feel others need to know how good they are for under $500 USD. No doubt there are superior optics available, but they often come with a great price increase as well, though they may be waterproof, etc, rather than the more traditonal Porro prism bins that are not.
I do not wear glasses, so I am not sure how these work for those who veiw through those, but it is a very wide view, and they may provide a good view even with glasses. I'm sure there are many who can tell you how they work for that though.
OK, so who else is so impressed with their binoculars to recommend them to all who want a great view? Yes, just one recommendation, but what has impressed you the most is what I am asking you to post, please.
It would be nice if we could get a tally at the end, but I don't know how to do that, but it should be interesting to read the recommendations, none the less.
