Raptor Over a Forest Pond (1 Viewer)

I was in a dense forest in Wiesbaden, Germany this week when I heard several ducks panic and scatter. I looked up and saw this raptor fly up to a limb in a tree next to the pond. The forest canopy shielded his face from my view so I am not able to use this important clue. I have a guess, but I am curious about other people's opinions. Ideas?
