Now the altitude sickness ia strong enough with me so maybe this is complete drivel, but I have two interesting birds from 3600 asl, Polyepsis "forest". The tit-tyrant looks to me like pied-crested, which makes no sense, so it should be yellow-billed? Thr siskin I want to propose as thick-billed based on tail and wing pattern, shame the bill isn't pictured better. But it's from THE thick-billed location in N Chile!

Thanks

Haha niels the opus photo of the Tit-tyrant is perfect! I think this is the first time the trusty Jaramillo book has misled me so much. Or maybe it's just the altitude :)

I don't think the Jaramillo book is misleading on Tit-Tyrants, must be the altitude :) That is a textbook Yellow-billed, and definitely not Pied-crested!

On the Siskin the photos are not the best but with yellow visible obviously on the tail and the apparent bill size I would lean towards Hooded. I think realistically you might need better photos to be 100% certain...
