I'm very fortunate that because I work for a company who repairs photographic and optical equipment I managed to get my trinny 10x25 serviced a bit today.
I had done..
Hinges tightened, they were not bad but now there as you would expect on a new pair.
Retractable eye cups were a bit stiff but OK I thought, now there nice and easy again, all removed and cleaned.
While they were off I had the next bit done.
Collimation, I didn't really notice but I asked for it to be checked and they were out a bit, now back to perfect collimation.
Focus was a little juddery but now nice and smooth again, much better and easier to focus now.
All in all there like new again.
I also tried them against a new pair of the same and found no noticeable difference in image quality.
So it really is worth looking after your bins..
Cheers Gary
