Pupils in Juegang looking after Spoon Billed Sandpipers on their migration along the Chinese coast - along with other issues of an environmental importance.

Part 2 of 5 Local Hero's....

of this series was fabulous tonight, and to see the Chinese children's point of view was very honest, thought provoking, and very factual. The children's interest in their subject of environmental issues goes beyond honesty about the current issues in China - the waterways of a major concern and a threat of building a dam - why do we need a damn the kids say and what for!!??

The concern about the pollution of the area that the shorebirds affected such as the Spoon-billed Sandpiper (Spoonies as a nickname throughout this programme) and the Nordmanns Greenshank are of a great concern for their future on this planet.

The endless human illnesses noted (especially cancer) in the water based areas (used for growing crops - along with the affected fish stocks affected) was of a major, and concern to the children. They hit the truth where the truth hurts and is evidence that the pollution is a huge issues (even the factories are covering their rear ends)

The factory owners need to fess up and be honest that they need to clean their used water before pumping it out to sea once more - the children said it as it was 'it stinks like poo... so sort it out' so frank!!! :eek!:...

what more can be added to this post... ;)
