Birding Locations Spain

Hi All, Im going to be lucky enough to be in Spain for about a month during Feb 2012. I am travelling down the west coast of France arriving at Pamplona and traveling across country to Valencia area travelling back up the east coast back through LLeida possibly Huesca back into France.
This route is not set in stone and happy to vary it to get some good birding in.
Can any one suggest some areas or reserves for birding, ideally would like some suggestions for reserves with hides over water lakes etc for the chance of some photography.
Thanks all

Keith aka Falconer2406

Hi Keith

I suggest you get a copy of "Where the birds are in northeast Spain" by me, and in the meantime you take a look at the sites and itineraries section of the Birding In Spain website. I live in Lleida.

Steve

Catalonia in February

Hi Keith

I'm currently on holiday but will try and get back to you when I return. In the mean time, you might want to take a look at the various sites (and species) on my website:

www.catalanbirdtours.com

There are site pages for Ebro Delta, Pyrenees, Lleida Steppes, etc. as well as summaries of itineraries for the winter (click itineraries then winter). I also have quite a few trips going out at that time so you may be able to join.

All the best

Hi Steve, made me laugh out loud, nothing like a plug for your own work. I'm on the case.
Cheers
