I've just noticed that you never got a response to this question. I think you will have to be more specific (Wales is a very big/long country:-O).
North Wales (Llandudno (spelling??) or South Stack onAnglesey will get you the Choughs.

Highly recommend Anglesey - loads of good birding spots with specialist species such as Chough and Black Guillemot, a big tern colony and the chnce of some scarce migrants like Hoopoe, Bluethroat etc.

When I visited Wales I stayed in Dale, on the Pembrokeshire coast near Milford Haven. Close to Skomer Island and Martins Haven where there were quite a few Choughs to be found, along with lots of seabirds. Not sure if there are Dippers around there but understand they can be found around Blackpool Mill and Pembroke. Dale was superb for wildlife, we had a rookery at the bottom of the garden (literally!) and the village was teeming with bats in the evenings. :t:

We stayed in St David's last year in early June. We got over to Ramsey but Skomer was out of bounds due to high winds all week. We saw Little Owl and Chough on Ramsey. All the usual seabirds around the coast including Fulmar, Kittiwake and Gannet. Brilliant views of Peregrine and Red Kite. Wheatears nest on Ramsey and had young in the nest.I read that Ramsey Island is good. any places around that area worht a visit. Thanks in annticipation.
If you decide to go to the other end of Wales, RSPB Conwy is worth a visit.

I have spent many hours searching for Dippers only to find them recently in local nature reserves in South Wales. Many of valleys here have fast flowing rivers. RSPB Cwm Clydach is definitely worth a visit. It is close to M4 on route to Pembrokeshire, where many Choughs can be seen around area known as Deerpark above Martin's Haven where boat will take you to Skomer.
