Any particular reason why it is unaccessible to foreign birders?Tony

There are still several National Parks in Vietnam that are off limits for foreigner, the most prominent being Ngoc Linh (wehre there is the endemic Golden-winged Laughingthrush, those endemic subspecies in the post linked above and perhaps still more to discover) and Chu Yang Sin (where there is Indochinese Fulvetta and all the Dalat endemics).

The official reason has usually something to do with military installations. The real reason is proabaly a mixture of traditional paranoia of the provincial authorities in the Central Highlands (the area where most unrests have been, although that's quite some time ago now) and the attempt to keep foreigners out of the areas where illegal logging goes on with the backing of the people in charge. An additional reason is of course that these parks are simply not developed for tourism, it's hard to get there without local knowledge, so no foreigners actually are trying.
