Fungi for ID Please.

Growing in mixed woodland. Common Rustgill was quite near so assumed first that it was more growing on buried wood, but gave a white spore print. So perhaps Trichololma but the spores are very big ~ 10 x 6 um.

Any ideas??

Thanks.

Yes, I think Tricholoma too, but it's hard to give it a name.

With those big fusiform spores it must be in the sulphureum group - Don't suppose you noted any strong smells?

Cheers,
Nick

Thanks Nick, Can't say there was a strong gassy smell, otherwise T. hemisulphureum would make a nice fit from photos!

Yeah, that's what I thought! But that species is only associated with Helianthemum....

Cheers,
Nick
